Dr. Dave Vroonland, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, Allen Independent School District
Dear Sir: I am writing this letter on behalf of the residents of Lost Creek Ranch. This letter is written in a spirit of respect and cooperation. I trust it will be accepted in the manner in which it is written. It has come to our attention that the AISD has been tasked with rezoning our school boundaries yet again. Further, it is our understanding that a proposal may be forthcoming that will divide our community into two separate school zones. This information understandably stirred some emotions and unfortunately some of our residents reacted to those emotions. Most of our residents however sought a more respectful and responsible approach. The residents of Lost Creek Ranch are offering cooperation and support to the AISD and our communication with you and the members of your committee will certainly be evidence of that. To that end, we are taking what we believe to be a very diplomatic approach to a very sensitive issue for most of our families. A committee made up of LCR home owners has been formed to assist the AISD in the very difficult task that you are facing. It is our intention to communicate with the AISD to present what we feel might be viable options in the rezoning efforts to accommodate school #15. We also want to make you aware of our feelings and concerns regarding separate zoning within our community. We will assist you and your committee in whatever manner is necessary in order to achieve an amiable resolve. Melissa Thompson and I have been asked to speak to you on behalf of the residents of LCR at your upcoming meetings on Oct. 22, Nov.1, Nov. 5, Nov 12, and Nov. 13. However, Melissa and I would request an audience with you prior to these meetings. We would like to make you aware of the questions, concerns, ideas and solutions that our committee has formulated, in advance of an open forum. There is a strong contingent of LCR residents who are planning on attending the meeting on the 22nd. While each person certainly has a right to make their own address of the Board, we will do our best to limit the dialogue to the spokespersons who have been selected to make our representation. Sincerely, Darron M. George Resident of Lost Creek Ranch |
